REISA is one of South Africa’s largest solar projects with 343 200 solar modules harnessing the intense Northern Cape sun.
The solar project not only supplies South Africa with 179 000 MWh of much-needed green energy each year, it also benefits the local communities of the Gamagara area in the Northern Cape through its many economic development programmes.

Owner of the Kathu solar field, REISA is focused on empowering and strengthening the local community in and around the Gamagara area in the Northern Cape.
The aim is to empower and build capacity of targeted communities through the funding of various socio-economic development programmes that positively address local skills gaps and needs, and to empower the communities to be economically independent and take ownership of their future.
